Osteopathy and Acupuncture in Bridgnorth & Wolverhampton

osteopath wolverhampton #01Welcome
I am an Osteopath and Acupuncturist with over 25 years experience. If you live in the Wolverhampton,Telford or Bridgnorth area and have been suffering lower back pain or neck pain then why not make an appointment to get some pain relief and advice.
In my practice I am able to combine the best approaches from Osteopathy, Acupuncture and Physiotherapy to effectively treat a wide range of conditions. My decision to train in Osteopathy and Acupuncture and complete many courses in Physiotherapy and Orthopaedics, gives you the maximum chance of making a full and lasting recovery from whatever condition you might present with, be it back pain, neck pain, sciatica, nerve entrapment, muscle overstrain or health problems diverse as dizzyness, vertigo, insomnia or facial pain.

I completed a four year full time course in Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy qualifying in 1986. I then went on to study Traditional Chinese Acupuncture for a further three years, becoming a full member of the British Acupuncture Council in 1997. Acupuncture is an integral part of my Practice. I continue to attend courses lead by Orthopaedic Surgeons in Birmingham and have a special interest in Pilates and exercise performance.

After taking your history and with your permission, examining the relevant area, I would discuss the treatment options with you. The decision is entirely YOURS, so, for example, if you had any concerns about manipulation OR were apprehensive about the idea of Acupuncture we would tailor treatment around your preferences.

Most of my patients come to me with specific conditions such as:

    Back and Neck Pain
    Disc Ligament and Muscle strains
    Sciatica and trapped nerves
    Anxiety and insomnia
    Dizzyness and vertigo
    Facial Pain and Neuralgia
    Abdominal discomfort
    Headaches

Other typical conditions that people come to me with include upper limb pain (Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist) and Lower limb pain (hip, knee and ankle). I can provide effective treatment for conditions such as tennis elbow, shoulder impingement and anterior knee pain by combining my knowledge of Osteopathy, Orthopaedics and the targeted prescription of exercise programmes. Furthermore, it is sometimes also useful to use Acupuncture to target healing in particular muscle groups or tendons.

On the other hand I might use Acupuncture to treat someone with a variety of conditions such as Facial pain, Bells palsy OR indeed to help a woman in the latter stages of pregnancy to go into labour!

Many of my patients come to see me without having seen any other therapists. Others come because they have made no progress or have reached a plateau with other therapies such as Physiotherapy and Chiropractic treatment. I have found by using a combined approach of hands on therapy, gentle application of needles and the prescription of exercises I am able to help more people back to health.

You can be reassured that when appropriate I will always organise a quick referral back to your GP or Consultant for further medical tests. It is often useful to obtain a second opinion or gather more information by arranging MRI scans or X-rays. I have very good relationships with local GP's and other medical services in the area.

I currently operate two clinics, one in Bridgnorth and the other in Wolverhampton. You can find contact information and a map for both clinics on the location web page.
